Cyclists Pedal for Local Healthcare in the Rain

Successful Seventh Annual Bike and Boat  Raised Funds for Patient Care at Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital
 
The seventh annual CA Dean Bike and Boat event was held on a rainy Sunday, June 28, 2015, beginning at the Katahdin Boat Dock in Greenville.  Twenty one enthusiastic riders were prepared to ride in the rain for the event.  The total participation for the event thanks to convenient on-line registration exceeded 80, not including the day of the race.  Individuals signed up on Sunday morning as far away as Jackman to participate the ride and or ride the Katahdin.  The riders, many dressed in rain gear left at 11 am for Rockwood.
 
Cyclists  completed the 19.5 mile ride to Rockwood with a return ride to Greenville, hot soup was enjoyed by everyone and prizes aboard the historic Katahdin vessel.
 
Since 2009, CA Dean Bike and Boat has raised more than $50,000 for patient care at the hospital. This year’s major sponsors include Appalachian Mountain Club, Indian Hill Farm, Katahdin Cruises, Kiwanis Club of Moosehead, Moosehead Matters, and Plum Creek.
