The Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital & Nursing Home is pleased to announce that Stella Derboghosian, Nursing Home C.N.A., has been selected as a recipient of the 2009 Annual Excellence in Long Term Care Awards sponsored by The Maine Health Care Association, First Atlantic Healthcare and The Maine Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program.
The program is designed to thank and honor Maine’s long term care employees who spend their days and nights caring for others. To be considered for the award, nominees must work for an MHCA member, meet certain criteria, including consistent quality of caregiving, attention to residents’ rights, leadership among peers, and ability to inspire others through example. An independent panel of judges selects the winners who are recognized at MHCA’s Fall Conference.
“C.A. Dean is fortunate to have this caliber of staff within our organization,” said Tracy Bonney-Corson, Director of Long Term Care Nursing. This marks the fifth year in a row, that staff from the C.A. Dean Nursing Home, have been honored by this award. A ceremony honoring the award winners will be held on September 16th at the Blaine House.
Stella has also been recognized as the 2009 Maine Healthcare Association Care Giver of the Year.
