Gynecologist Joins C.A. Dean Medical Staff

Greenville.  In recent weeks, Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital & Nursing Home has added another visiting specialist to their medical staff.  Dr. Lekha Bhatta is a physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN).  She practices at C.A. Dean in Greenville every third Saturday along with her husband, Dr. Krishna Bhatta, a urologist.

An OB/GYN for 25 years, Dr. Lekha Bhatta has run a successful practice in Skowhegan for 10 years.  In Greenville, Dr. Bhatta will serve as the Moosehead Lake region's only gynecologist and see women with a variety of gynecological issues. Dr. Bhatta sees patients with abnormal pap smears, endometriosis, infertility, laser surgery, menstrual problems, pelvic tumors, and urinary incontinence.  Dr. Bhatta is also well versed on a variety of new contraceptive products, like the birth control patch, vaginal rings, and an updated IUD.

Dr. Bhatta will accept patient referrals from other physician offices as well as self-referrals.  New patients are asked to bring a copy of their medical records and any lab work that they’ve completed.  (Patients can obtain their records by calling their primary care provider or physician.)

Dr. Bhatta joins other specialists at C.A. Dean so that additional services can be provided closer to home for people in the Moosehead Lake region.  She acknowledges, “I enjoy new opportunities and coming to Greenville will provide me with new challenges as I serve a different community.  I’m looking forward to meeting those new patients.”

For an appointment with Dr. Lekha Bhatta, call Northwoods Healthcare for an appointment at 695-5220.
