The Moosehead Lake Region is unique because our Ambulance Services are a department of our hospital and our highly skilled paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMT) staff are employees of C. A. Dean. By calling 911, an ambulance is dispatched to the site. Once on location, members of our ambulance crew administer care after evaluating the situation.

Because of our geographic region, our Ambulance Service has adapted to meet the needs of the people we serve. As a result, we can provide snowmobile and backwoods rescue for those who need us. We have a common-sense approach to rescue and in the past have used various means to assist our patients. For example, we have used skidders, snowmobiles, helicopters, and the Jaws of Life to allow us to administer care and save people.
