| Managing your Diabetes Program
Through C. A. Dean's Education & Community Outreach Department, individuals with diabetes can learn how to manage and control this disease through a 10-hour training program. The program is designed to:
Assist persons with diabetes in learning the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behavior changes necessary to achieve and maintain good diabetes control and prevent the acute and long-term complications, which result in unnecessary hospitalization for the person with diabetes. Both newly diagnosed and established patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus are eligible for the program. All you need to do is:
- Get a written physician referral
- Contact the Diabetes Educator at C. A. Dean (207/695-5200) for a pre-assessment interview
- Ask for information on class schedules
